Lean-to Conservatory

Conservatory

A lean-to conservatory is a traditional sunlounge or sunroom built on to the side, front or back of a property, often found leading from a room with French windows or doors. It is usually constructed with clean straight lines and is therefore less ornate than a conservatory.

The lean-to is considerably less expensive than a conservatory and traditionally has a slanting or flat glazed or solid roof and straight walls.

The lean-to conservatory is an excellent option for bungalows and other houses restricted by height. They are available with dwarf wall or floor to ceiling glazing and provide you with everything you require from a conservatory.

Lean-to Conservatory

The advantages of having a lean-to built onto your house are that you have an extra room that can be used as a lounge, dining area, playroom or study and you will have excellent views over your garden. In addition, it will become an extension of your house without having to undergo major building work such as removal of outer walls or fitting of patio doors for access as long as it is situated around an external house door.

For the DIY enthusiast fitting a lean-to conservatory is a much simpler and more economical project than a more elaborately constructed conservatory and you still have the option of timber or uPVC frames. Most conservatory companies will fit a lean-to to your property and it is well worth getting several conservatory quotes to ensure you're getting the best deal.
